I had a very happy and adventurous childhood, coming from a loving family of nine children. My neighbour and I would take the sea scouts boat(with permission of course) every weekend and row out to a famous Rock about 1 mile from shore (called Farillon, that was once used by the Queen of England as a holiday resort) and catch fish all day long. This was my beginning of my love for the sea. I much later completed my Training as a Ship’s Captain.
Over the years, I have put my own life at risk to save at least 10 souls from being dragged out to sea – it was duty to save my fellow man, despite the fact that I have no lifeguard skills.
At the age of nine I built up my own chemistry and physics laboratory complete with Bunsen burner.
I entered primary school in 1965 and completed the “common Entrance Examinations”
I then entered secondary school in 1977 and completed my General Certificate of Education Examinations.(GCE)
While at school I represented my college and my city in Football (soccer).
I was later chosen to represent my country Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean Table Tennis Championships, held in Cuba in 1976.Coached students in Table Tennis at the International School of Port of Spain (American school)
In my later teen years (18 + 19) I was the leader of a successful Disc Jockey group.
I worked in the family’s’ business repairing and selling bicycles and parts during the summer holidays. My father instilled very many lessons of integrity, honesty and a sense of fair play and justice in dealing with the customers. This workshop was instrumental for my growth and love for mechanical engineering.
I enrolled in the San Fernando Technical institute and completed my training in Concrete and Soils technology
I worked for over 25 years as a Concrete, Soils, and Asphalt technologist for several of the top engineering firms in Trinidad and Tobago.
Performed quantity Surveyors role; quoted and implemented several multi-million dollar projects.
In 2001 I was contracted by Her Majesty’s Service to bring their Asphalt Laboratory on the Island of Tortola to an “on-line status” - while working with Dutch Consultants on Terrence B. Lettesome Airport.
In 2008, I was awarded first Prize in "The Prime Minister’s Award for Invention and Innovation in the Information Technolog"y category (IT). I developed and Artificial Intelligence computer software program called “Command and Control software solutions for Asphalt design and Construction”
In 2015 I received a second award in “The Prime Minister’s Award for Scientific Ingenuity” for my wave energy device, known as “Terraforma One”
I have since and very recently started a company by the same name.
I believe in the inherent goodness of man and recognize my obligation to serve all, regardless of colour, creed or race.
The following paragraph depicts my own thoughts and concerns and are notdirected toward any group or organization :-
Thirty five years years ago, when I was attracted to the idea to work on a renewable energy device, the science of "climate change" was already a topic in the scientific world, but far less pronouced back then.
What is astonishing, is the rapidity of unfolding events and where the earth is now! It is not only unimaginable ,it is very frightening.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) continues to release very daunting news of famines, air pollution taking the lives of hundreds of thousands of children every year, thousands of animal Species going extinct every day of the week
The human species has been tried, tested and have been found wanting! What horrible stewards to our planet we have been. If I solely owned this planet, I would have taken it back from the tenants long ago.
Time is against us. Scientists know that the ocean holds terrawatts of energy capable of supplying all our current anf future energy needs.
The time for indicision is past !! New directives must be issued, priorities readjusted, strategies developed. - Everyone wake up!!! We are losing our breathable air!!
